John McMichael

John, a past chairman of the Company, has played numerous roles for the New Lyric but his favourite to date was as Rico in Copacabana in March 2005... as he played opposite his wife!

Previous roles include Danny Zuko (Grease), Nathan Detroit (Guys and Dolls), Riff (West Side Story), Cornelius (Hello, Dolly!), Seymour (Little Shop of Horrors), Danny Zuko (Grease), Billy (Anything Goes), Adam in (Seven Brides for Seven Brothers) and Julian Marsh (Forty Second Street).

John played the role of the Pirate King in the New Lyric's 2001 multi award winning production of The Pirates of Penzance for which he won Best Supporting Actor at the Association of Irish Musical Society Awards, and which he reprised for us in 2010.

John was privileged to sing backing vocals for Donny Osmond (accompanied by his wife Antoinette of course) on the Kelly Show.
