Shortly before he came to the New Lyric to play Sir John in Me and My Girl, Roger completed a successful run on the festival circuit with the Clarence Players, playing Sir in Brian Friel's Living Quarters.
In 2005, he won a Best Actor award in the Ulster One-act finals for his portrayal of Bruce in Rialto (another Clarence production). Other performances with them include Nothing Personal, Filumena, The Poker Session, Philadelphia Here I Come, The Patrick Pearse Motel and The Odd Couple. Farces have included Not Now, Darling and Run for Your Wife.
Roger has directed A Dog's Life with Clarence, and Dancing at Lughnasa with Rosemary Drama. Since 2003, he has played roles in Radio Ulster-produced plays for Radio 4: Mix, Breath You Take, Tricycles, Pressing the Flesh, Going to the Dogs, Red Feathers and The Last Days of Love.
From time to time, he can be heard voicing commercials on radio and TV.
